They design them, and they market them. But the manufacturing is contracted out of supplier, usually Korean, Taiwanese or Hong Kong xomanies located in cheap labour countries like Indonesia, The Philippines, Thailand or China. Investigations by vaarious organisations of thesez factories in Asia making sport shoes has revealed a common pattern of working conditions wich leaves much to be desired. The overworking and underpaying of workers, neglect of health and safety, physical abuse of workers and the persecution of those involved in organising workers are common features in all of these plants.
