Titre : Rough waters : European trade unions in a time of crises Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Steffen Lehndorff, Auteur ; Heiner Dribbusch, Auteur ; Thorsten Schulten Editeur : ETUI Année de publication : 2017 Importance : 316 p Note générale : 05.02.LEH Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : Europe Syndicats Index. décimale : 05.02 Syndicalisme Résumé : This book analyses the development of trade unions in eleven countries (Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden and the UK) since the early 2000s. The individual chapters focus on unions' structural, organisational, institutional and discursive power resources.
One feature in particular emerges from the turbulent European trade union landscape, namely the challenge of becoming politically more autonomous while long-standing institutional power resources are at increasing risk of being dismanteled or of losing their effectiveness. The book also includes a chapter on the changes and challenges of European trade union federations in times of crisis.En ligne : https://www.etui.org/Publications2/Books/Rough-waters-European-trade-unions-in-a [...] Rough waters : European trade unions in a time of crises [texte imprimé] / Steffen Lehndorff, Auteur ; Heiner Dribbusch, Auteur ; Thorsten Schulten . - [S.l.] : ETUI, 2017 . - 316 p.

Titre : A triumph of failed ideas : European models of capitalism in the crisis Type de document : document électronique Auteurs : Steffen Lehndorff, Auteur Editeur : ETUI Année de publication : 2012 Importance : 284 p Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : Europe Crise économique Réformes Politique sociale Résumé : The current crisis in Europe is being labelled, in mainstream media and politics, as a ‘public debt crisis’. The present book draws a markedly different picture. What is happening now is rooted, in a variety of different ways, in the destabilisation of national models of capitalism due to the predominance of neoliberalism since the demise of the post-war ‘golden age’. Ten country analyses provide insights into national ways of coping – or failing to cope – with the ongoing crisis. They reveal the extent to which the respective socio-economic development models are unsustainable, either for the country in question, or for other countries.
The bottom-line of the book is twofold. First, there will be no European reform agenda at all unless each country does its own homework. Second, and equally urgent, is a new European reform agenda without which alternative approaches in individual countries will inevitably be suffocated. This message, delivered by the country chapters, is underscored by more general chapters on the prospects of trade union policy in Europe and on current austerity policies and how they interact with the new approaches to economic governance at the EU level. These insights are aimed at providing a better understanding across borders at a time when European rhetoric is being used as a smokescreen for national egoism.En ligne : http://www.etui.org/Publications2/Books/A-triumph-of-failed-ideas-European-model [...] A triumph of failed ideas : European models of capitalism in the crisis [document électronique] / Steffen Lehndorff, Auteur . - [S.l.] : ETUI, 2012 . - 284 p.
